This spring helps to slow the apply and speed the release the second gear band. We have found it helpful in transmission shift quality in the following scenarios.

• >4.4 apply lever ratio
• Tight direct drum clutch clearance
• Aftermarket servos that speed up the second gear apply
• Cleans up the bind up feeling (tapping the brakes) on a 2-3 upshift
• Manual valve body 2-3 shift bindup
• Some experimentation may be required but we have found this spring works best independently in factory style servos and when used in conjunction with the factory spring if using an aftermarket servo.
